Most victims of WannaCry blackmail are using Windows 7

Although both Windows XP and Windows 7 are the targets of WannaCry's malicious code, it's surprising that many of the infected systems run on Windows 7.
According to Kaspersky Lab, about 98% of computers are affected by WannaCry running Windows 7 ultimate product key, while Windows XP accounts for only 0.1%. Windows 2008 R2 Server clients are also affected, but they account for just over 1% of all infections.
Windows 7 is still the most popular Windows operating system, with four times as many devices as Windows 10 product key PCs worldwide. Although the operating system is more modern than Windows XP over 15 years of age (discontinued in April 2011), the difference between Windows XP and Windows 7 infected with WannaCry is a one-off.
Remarkably, this caused a small response from the Windows community. According to reports, Microsoft office 2016 product key released a public patch for Windows 7 about a month before the attack, while the patch for Windows XP was only released as an emergency after bad damage. bad money.
So even if Windows 7 is supported by Microsoft until 2020, its defense against WannaCry is worse than Windows XP.
At the present time, only Windows XP has received the support of some anti-WannaCry tools, including the recent WannaKey. This utility can remove WannaCry for Windows XP but requires that the system not restart after the attack.
